Cabinetree

This sculpture incorporates functional components that branch and grow from a central "trunk", reminiscent of the trees from which it came. This unique shape emerged during the process of cleansing the antique woods of their weaker fibers. Multi layering of different colored stains create depth and enhance the three dimensional weathered surface of the wood. There is a backwards opening, upside down door. Not visible are a secret compartment and two side drawers.
